In Hazlehurst, Mississippi, the three Magrath sisters have gathered to await news of their grandfather, who is living out his last hours in the local hospital. Lenny, the oldest, is facing diminishing marital prospects; Meg, the middle sister, is back home after a failed singing career; while Babe, the youngest, is out on bail after having shot her husband. Under the scorching heat of the Mississippi sun, past resentments bubble to the surface as each sister must come to terms with the consequences of her own “crimes of the heart.”

Seeking actors of all ethnicities, physical abilities, sizes, and gender identities are encouraged to audition. Actors need to prepare one comedic monologue (3 to 5 minutes). Please bring a headshot and resume.
