About the Experience:
Dirty Turk aka Dirty Immigrant is a powerful immersive performance that blends documentary-style filmmaking, large-scale installation design, projection mapping, original soundscapes and live performance. The piece explores the intergenerational experiences of immigrant, migrant and refugee families, centering on survival, identity and resilience.

Audiences will journey through multiple environments as real-life narratives unfold around them, drawing from interviews with community members and lived histories from the global majority. This layered storytelling invites viewers not only to witness but to step inside the struggles and resilience of families often pushed to the margins.

Created by Harper College Theatre faculty member Ilknur Nilufer Ozgur and originally produced by her nonprofit Artstillery, the show premiered professionally to sold-out audiences at the Dallas Museum of Art in 2021. Now redesigned for the Harper College Performing Arts Center, this production will engage students, local communities and Chicago-area audiences in a transformative artistic experience.

A conversation catalyst. A space for truth. A story of home.
