About this Event
Both Uganda and Kenya are considered to be biodiversity hotspots, but climate change, urbanization, and human-wildlife conflict have posed challenges to conserving this biodiversity. Conservation approaches in these countries often do not include community involvement and, as a result, can lead to social injustices, including human displacement and armed conflict as well. Come hear from faculty who spent six weeks in Kenya and Uganda this summer as part of a Fulbright-Hays Groups Project to develop a curriculum exploring this intersection of conservation and social justice.
