Harper College

Re-creation is the act of creating something anew. Keith Whipple is a Registered Drama Therapist and part of an Expressive Therapy team that uses music, art, dance/movement, and drama to help patients re-create a healthier vision of themselves and their world. This interactive presentation will demonstrate re-creative action in the virtual space. Participates will engage in apparently simple, playful activities that can have a profound impact. The workshop's intent is to provide an accessible experience that increases understanding of cognitive flexibility and reframing, as well as personal agency and interpersonal connectivity. This short workshop will demonstrate how activating a creative mindset is a part of coping and life skills; present how to relate mental health concepts in engaging ways; and showcase a way to re-energize virtual sessions and meetings.
