According to Freedom House, occupied Tibet is ranked as one of the most repressive places in the world, where the Chinese government continues to suppress the cultural, religious, and linguistic identity of the Tibetan people. The Tibetan diaspora represents a unique and resilient global community shaped by decades of displacement due to the ongoing Tibet-China conflict. In this presentation, I will delve deeper into the formation and characteristics of the Tibetan diaspora, offering insights into the global dispersion of Tibetan communities. I will also discuss how Tibetans have navigated the challenges of living in exile while preserving their rich cultural heritage and sustaining their hopes for a free Tibet.
