Faculty, staff, and students are invited to sign up to join a guided excursion/trip to the 18th annual Convention for Palestine on 11/27 to 11/29.
"American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) will hold its 18th Annual Convention for Palestine in the U.S. at the Tinley Park Convention Center near Chicago, IL. Palestine Convention is considered to be the largest gathering for Palestine in the US. Palestine Convention." It offers a main program and "special tracks for college activists."
You will learn about settler-colonialism, Indigeneity, and struggles for global justice to consider the connections between injustices that impact colonized, minoritized, and racialized communities in the United States and global issues in which the U.S. plays a central role. The convention features artistic and cultural exhibits, lectures by renowned scholars, dialogue with activists and community organizers, historical discussions, and discussions on policy and law. Dr. Ibtisam M. Abujad, Assistant Professor in the English Department, will provde a pre-attendance reading list, discussion questions, and a post-attendance discussion.
Harper College is not affiliated with this event but welcomes students to participate. The registration fee is sponsored by the Liberal Arts Division.
