About this Event
Add to calendarBy Jireh Breon Holder
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Freedom Riders. Join Director Kevin Long, Dramaturg Mary T. Christel, and Dorothy Walker, Site Director of the Freedom Rides Museum in Alabama, as we explore the ideas and issues raised in Harper’s upcoming April production of Too Heavy For Your Pocket by Jireh Breon Holder. In addition, a Freedom Rider will share the experience they faced as they fought to integrate public buses. We will ignite discussion, bring the play’s concerns into sharp focus, discuss inspiration, determination, process, and encourage you to think beyond the stage.
