Wheels of Gratitude: A Celebration of Veteran and Military Connected Students and Employees

Harper College Student Engagement and the Center for Student Veterans and Military Connected Students invite you to attend Wheels of Gratitude on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Harper Quad.

Wheels of Gratitude is a celebration in appreciation of our students and employees who have served, or are currently serving, in the United States Military.

The event will feature a Veterans and Military Families Month and Native American Heritage Month recognition, six local food trucks (cash, debit, and credit cards accepted), a Toys for Tots Toy Ruck, a Colors Ceremony by Harper College Veterans and service members, and an Eagle Staff Presentation by members of Trickster Cultural Center in Schaumburg, Illinois.

11 am – Welcome, information tables, and food trucks open for sales

11:15 to 11:45 am – Student Veterans Association Toy Ruck for Toys for Tots* (departs from and returns to Quad)

12 pm – Presentation of Colors and Trickster Cultural Center Eagle Staff presentation

Food truck sales will pause during presentation of colors.

Currently enrolled Harper College students and employees who have served, or are currently serving, in the United States military will be provided lunch vouchers and are invited to order from a fast pass lane.

*Toy Ruck: Bring a new, unwrapped, toy or book (Toys for Tots suggested mimimum is $10 per item) and ruck throughout campus with the Student Veterans Association

This is a rain or shine event and will only be halted due to extreme weather conditions. Indoor seating and rest rooms available.
