You've Got Mail

Join us for a Special Movie Screening Event featuring the film “You’ve Got Mail” in preparation for Harper College Theatre Department’s fall musical, She Loves Me.  Both the musical and the film are based on the 1937 play Parfumerie written by Miklos Laszlo.

A romantic comedy where Joe Fox, owner of a large bookstore chain, and Kathleen Kelly, owner of a small independent bookstore, unknowingly fall in love through anonymous online correspondence while also being business rivals in real life.

We will begin with a brief introduction of the film followed by the screening. After the screening, we’ll discuss the film with Kevin Long, Professor of Theatre and Director of She Loves Me, and Mary T. Christel, the Dramaturg for the production.  This will then be followed by a musical performance by members of the cast of She Loves Me.
